Creativity and New Media

Below videos were originally recorded on my iPhone from  the Grand Canyon National Park, I used video editing apps on my iPhone to convert the video to VHS style video. The video appears as if it has been recorded on an old fashion VHS camera. Due to the fact that Blog is not designed for uploading videos and it doesn't show the videos properly and in correct dimensions , I have uploaded them on my YouTube account and posted the YouTube videos here.

HW Creativity

Old media (digital or non-digital) was the medium to transfer information from writer/creator to the audience and it was a one-way communication from the creator to the audience. As the technologies advanced and new digital devices was introduced to consumers, it provided an opportunity for both creators and audiences of the new media to become creative and their ability to try new things that was not possible before. Digital technology provided the opportunity to people to use their electronic devices not only as a medium but also a content generating medium to create expression and new design language. With the use of Video editing, music editing and photo editing programs on computers and smart phones, even amateur users can create high quality and creative content to express their school of thought easily and conveniently. Virtual worlds can give us social connectivity, built-in support groups, and ways to avoid ever being alone again.” [1] An advantage of a v...

Blog about Twitter

In my opinion Twitter users can discuss any subject freely and do not have to provide a right answer but rather their own opinion. In comparison, Blackboard discussions are heavily regulated by the professor and people must follow professor’s direction regarding their discussion and provide resources.  Because of the characters limit on Twitter, most conversation and comments are short and is not based on a scientific source. On Twitter discussions can be formal or casual and it can reach to all the followers and be retweeted to other users and create a very large audience. Both Black-board discussions and Twitter discussions are in form of short, formal written statements, however, in class discussions can be very interactive with professors and other students since the mean of the conversation is voice and face to face interactions allow students to see each other facial and physical impressions during...

Social Networking Sites

I have chosen Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn for my comparison. Today we cannot live without at least one social media account. Social media accounts help us connect, communicate, receive the latest news, and even look for new jobs. Unlike other social media platforms, LinkedIn is designed for professional connections between individuals and companies. LinkedIn is specifically designed to connect people with on their professional career and expand their network in their filed. Hiring recruiters can reach individuals with base on their profile description. LinkedIn does not have features like sharing photos or videos and it only allows people on share written articles. LinkedIn is professional social media account focused on recruitment and career networking. Many employers require social media accounts like LinkedIn upon accepting hiring applications. Facebook is mainly focused on connecting people throughout the world and help people make new friends. People can ...
