In my opinion Twitter users can discuss any subject freely and do not have to provide a right answer but rather their own opinion. In comparison, Blackboard discussions are heavily regulated by the professor and people must follow professor’s direction regarding their discussion and provide resources. Because of the characters limit on Twitter, most conversation and comments are short and is not based on a scientific source. On Twitter discussions can be formal or casual and it can reach to all the followers and be retweeted to other users and create a very large audience. Both Black-board discussions and Twitter discussions are in form of short, formal written statements, however, in class discussions can be very interactive with professors and other students since the mean of the conversation is voice and face to face interactions allow students to see each other facial and physical impressions during the discussions. In summary, I believe Twitter discussions are the most opinion-based
discussions which it can lead to end less retweets and arguments. Blackboard conversations
are the most formal, heavily regulated, resource-based conversations and it
results in academic discussions and educated conversations. In person discussions
are the most interactive and engaging conversations and it creates environment
that encourages people to raise their voice and discuss their opinion. |
